Even though AMC’s The Walking Dead show is beginning to feel like a sinking Mary Celeste, particularly with the impending exit of lynchpin actor Andrew Lincoln, Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game adaptation, on the other hand, has been widely regarded as a critical and commercial success. The first season especially has been lauded by critics for its terrific writing, clever choice-based gameplay and strong characters.

With that in mind, fans who have been waiting patiently for news on the game’s third and final season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead are very much in luck. Thankfully, Telltale have confirmed a release date for the highly anticipated conclusion to their shambling zombie series — Pre-orders for the first episode kickoff this Friday (June 8th) and the first of four episodes will be made available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on the 14th of August. A Nintendo Switch version is allegedly in the pipeline and will release later this year as well.

That’s not all, either, as the US-based developer has also lifted the curtain on a brand new trailer for The Walking Dead: The Final Season. You can check out the new trailer below:

The conclusion to The Walking Dead’s story centres around Clementine and her ongoing survival, who is busy looking after an orphaned boy called AJ. Can she re-build her life in a derelict school and become a leader? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out, right?

In other Telltale-related news, The Wolf Among Us: Season 2 has sadly been pushed back to early next year. That being said, luckily for us, we’ve got The Walking Dead: The Final Season to keep us busy, eh?
