Out of all the game’s on PS4’s upcoming release docket, one title stands out of the crowd as a real head-turner: Insomniac and Marvel’s Spider-Man exclusive. Aside from a slight feeling of open-world déjà vu (the market’s pretty saturated with ‘em at the moment) and the combat leaning very heavily into Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series, Spider-Man is shaping up to be a creative, kinetic and visually impressive web-slinging adventure.

Interestingly, Spidey’s primary threat in the game comes in the form of a ragtag gang of infamous ‘greatest hits’ characters who will form the Sinister Six. As you’re probably aware, Spider-Man bookended Sony’s E3 conference in style with a lengthy new trailer, which you can check out below. This new E3 trailer introduced us to a raft of four new villains: Rhino, Electro, Vulture and Scorpion, who also join Mr Negative as the game’s roster of big bads. But wait, isn’t that just five characters? Who the heck will be the sixth? Who will be Spidey’s arch-nemesis?

Well, you’re in luck, as in an interview with YouTuber Drift0r, Chris Jai Alex – who plays Rhino in Insomniac’s upcoming PS4 exclusive – Doctor Octopus will be the sixth arch rival that Spidey will have to contend with. Doc Ock makes a lot of sense, too, given that he’s a founding member of the infamous Sinister Six gang and a well-known adversary to your friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler. Adding even more fuel to the legitimacy of this tidbit of info is the fact that the original video has now been taken offline. Interesting, no?

Spider-Man is set to launch exclusively for PS4 on September 7th. As always, if we catch anymore intel in our cobwebs, we’ll be sure to let you know.
