In preparation of the eagerly anticipated Swamp Thing debut this Friday, DC Universe has released a brand new trailer focused on one of the show’s lead characters, Abby Arcane. You can go ahead and check it out below.

The original live-action series is being produced by visionary horror mastermind, James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring) and will star Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Will Patton as Avery Sutherland, Maria Sten as Liz Tremayne, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu and Jennifer Beals as Sheriff Lucilia Cable. Additionally, the mutated monster at the heart of the show will be played by The Flash‘s Derek Mears.

Courtesy of DC Universe: “Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane (Reed) as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.”

The mysterious mutant made his comic book debut back in 1971. Since then, the titular creature has spawned two feature films, a live-action TV series and a five-part animated series. The first movie released in 1982 and was even written and directed by horror maestro, Wes Craven.

But tell us. Will you be tuning in to watch James Wan’s upcoming Swamp Thing? Or do you think it should be left in the murky depths? Let us know in the usual place!
