If you’ve been waiting patiently for some new information about Kingdom Hearts 3, then you may be in luck. It sounds like the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Square Enix crossover video game will receive a playable demo at this year’s E3.

Announced way back at E3 2013, a brief teaser for Kingdom Hearts 3 was shown to audiences around the globe that really got fans of the much loved series all in a tizzy. Since this teaser trailer, the Japanese publisher has remained pretty tight-lipped about their upcoming project.

Now, almost five years later, Square Enix is finally ready to give fans a hands-on taster of the hotly anticipated action-RPG at their developer’s booth at E3 2018. The news comes direct from the publisher’s official twitter account. You can check out the tweet below:

Though the game has been given a tentative 2018 release window, Square Enix is yet to lock down an official launch date for the long-awaited sequel to 2006’s Kingdom Hearts 2. Could we also see a concrete release date announced at E3 2018, though? It feels like the right time to do it so it’s entirely possible, no?

The forthcoming third installment in the Kingdom Hearts series will follow Sora on his journey of friendship as he battles to overcome the darkness. Iconic fan favourites like Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku will make a return.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled to release on PS4 and Xbox One in late 2018. As always, stay tuned as we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more information drops.
