Tom Holland has become a little notorious for accidentally revealing spoilers in upcoming MCU movies. First he revealed a major Infinity War spoiler to the Arclight Theater in LA before the audience had seen the movie back in April. Then, just a few days later during a press junket, his co-star Benedict Cumberbatch had to stop him from revealing what may happen in the upcoming Avengers 4, due out in May of 2019.
Now, the third actor to portray Spider-Man on the big screen just posted an Instagram video that may have revealed the title for the upcoming sequel.
Holland, who was backstage at the Ace Comic-Con in Seattle, started the video with an apology, saying there’s “no real revelations” in store for the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. “I don’t know much about it. I’m a little confused because I… died, so I don’t know how it will come into play, but I’ve got the new script, and I’m super excited to read it, and it’s going to be great.”
The declaration of “no real revelations” then took an ironic turn, as Holland then held up an iPad with what seemed to be the title for the sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Granted, this could just be a placeholder title, but given Holland’s track record, it’s entirely possible he accidentally (or deliberately) revealed what the sequel would be called to his 10.1 million Instagram followers. Last year, he told the Toronto Sun that Marvel was only letting him read pages of the Infinity War script that contained his character’s lines out of fear he’d leak too many details to the public.
As of this writing, the video had been viewed just under 680,000 times in about an hour. So, at least his reputation as the MCU’s resident “Spoiler-Man” is still going strong.
