Even though E3 doesn’t officially kick off until Sunday, some huge news has reportedly leaked ahead of the gaming industry’s biggest press conference of the year. That’s right, Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is working closely with Bloodborne and Dark Souls developer, FromSoftware, on a brand new video game entitled Elden Ring. We know. Our minds nearly imploded with excitement, too!
Yes, two of the biggest and iconic names in the fantasy genre have chosen to collaborate on a video game project, and the good thing is there’s already allegedly a piece of official art-work making the rounds as well. Go ahead and check it out below:
Intriguing, huh? The intel comes from industry insider, Daniel “ZhugeEX” Ahmed who tweeted out the above image. As you can see, the upcoming title of the game looks to be Elden Ring. It’s fair to say that it’s very likely it will be set in a completely new fantasy world separate from the Soulsborne and Thrones universes.
There’s not much to go on apart from that for the moment, though the title is allegedly set for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Admittedly, we’d suggest to take this news with a pinch of salt, as nothing concrete has been officially confirmed as of yet, but the evidence is undeniably mounting, which couldn’t make us happier!
Clearly, we’re pretty stoked to see what FromSoftware and George R.R. Martin come up with, as they’re easily some of the most creative and imaginative minds currently in the modern fantasy genre. But how about you? Tell us. Does this intel tickle your fantasy bone? Or does Elden Ring sound too good to be true? Let us know in the usual place.
