Disney+ has officially added Owen Wilson to the cast of its highly-anticipated Loki series. The news comes from various sources gathered by Comicbook.com but likely won’t shock Marvel fans too much. MCU architect Kevin Feige has a knack for recruiting top-notch talent, and nabbing Wilson in a major role is further proof of that. There is currently no word on which character Wilson will play. Updates will undoubtedly follow in the coming months so speculate away until then (not that we need to remind you)!
Because the original Loki died in Avengers: Infinity War, this new series will focus on 2012 Loki, who fled New York City when the Avengers traveled back in time to retrieve an Infinity Stone in Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddleston is set to return and will help push the MCU toward the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It was a clever way to reintegrate the character into Marvel’s big-screen continuity, a creative decision we all knew was coming. Sounds like it will be quite a show, right?
Wilson has appeared in countless films, including Shanghai Knights, Wedding Crashers, and Bottle Rocket.
Loki is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2021. Keep checking our news feed for updates and feel free to send in tips if you know anything we don’t!
