Even though it’s been 10 years since Alan Wake originally released on Xbox 360 and PC, it’s safe to say that the beloved action-horror title still resonates strongly in the hearts of modern gamers. Not only did the Stephen King-inspired thriller receive positive critical acclaim (the game boasts a critic score of 83 and a user score of 8.2 on review aggregator MetaCritic), but it’s also widely considered as the Finnish studio’s magnum opus.

While there’s been talk of a fully fledged sequel to Alan Wake, in reality, there has only been some Alan Wake-based paid DLC announced for their latest cinematic action experience, Control.

Thankfully, for those who still remember the profound legacy of Alan Wake‘s pine-scented small-town mystery, we may have some good news for you. That’s right, to commemorate the game’s 10 year anniversary, Alan Wake will soon be playable on Xbox Games Pass for both Xbox One and PC. For those unaware, Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s game subscription service, which allows players to stream an extensive library of over a 100 games, much akin to Netflix.

If you haven’t checked out Remedy’s classic action-horror title yet, now’s just as good a time as any. It truly is a unique and compelling slice of psychological horror well deserving of your time.

But tell us, how do you feel about Alan Wake coming to Xbox Game Pass next week? Are you going to check it out? Or are you going to be giving it a wide berth? Grab a torch and a pistol, and head down to the comments section below to let us know.
