Praise the RPG overlords! It looks like a remastered version of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is making its way to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on August 18.
Yes, despite not having been officially announced by the US-based developer 38 Studios, the epic role-playing title mysteriously popped up on the Microsoft store recently. Said leak sent the internet into meltdown and following much speculation and rumour, the game’s official twitter account confirmed the new intel:
The rumours are true! Prepare for a Re-Reckoning, because Kingdoms of Amalur is coming back.

Dubbed Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning – aye, we’re not too keen on that title, either – the third-person fantasy action-RPG is set for the usual remaster treatment. Further, all of the game’s DLC will also be remastered and included in the final package as well.
Originally released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC way back in 2012, the ambitious project was the one and only game ever produced by the ill-fated 38 Studios, who unfortunately went bankrupt soon after the game’s release. Written by acclaimed fantasy author R. A. Salvatore, and designed by The Elder Scrolls alumni Ken Rolston, Kingdoms Of Amalur was an under-the-radar RPG gem that boasted a ton of top-notch talent behind the scenes.
Long story short, if you’re a fan of fantasy RPGs and haven’t played Kingdoms Of Amalur yet, this may well be the perfect opportunity to check it out on modern hardware.
But what say you? Are you down to return to the world of Amalur? Or are you going to be giving it a miss? Let us know in the usual place!
